Gold shovels and gloomy skies marked the official ground-breaking for the Floyd County law enforcement project. The full center will cost more than $13.5 million and include the sheriff’s office, the county jail, and many other entities. Doug Kamm, the Floyd County supervisor reiterated the need for the upgrade.
Most of the city officials were present for the ground-breaking and Sid Samuels, the construction manager for the project predicts that the site is going to be quite active over the next couple of months.
Footings are predicted to begin by December 1st and which should kick-off all of the construction efforts.
