Charles City city administrator clears up sign confusion

If you have been driving around Charles City lately, you may have noticed the way-finding signs gracing many of the corners. You may have also noticed a certain sign standing-tall near Casey’s General Store on North Grand Avenue. Going towards Immaculate Conception School the sign points right and reads, ‘HS & Middle School.’ The sign is technically pointing the direct-opposite direction of the school itself.

Many residents on Facebook noticed and posted about their concern.

City Administrator Steve Diers understands how this can look like a flub but assures locals that it was a purposeful choice:

Carter Melrose

Carter bullied his way onto the KCHA radio waves after spending 4 years at the University of Iowa as a studying journalist. He writes news, short stories, features, but more than anything, he has a proclivity to wax philosophically.
