Chickasaw County Board of Health talk early deficit

Chickasaw County Public Health and Home Care Services are $210,000 in the red in the span of roughly 5 months time.

Terry Johnson said, “It worries me that it just keeps growing and growing. And I’ve been checking with some other counties, and it doesn’t appear that they’re having the same issues, at least to the magnitude that we’re having.”

The department reassured the county that the deficit isn’t something to panic about as they are still yet to be paid their Medicare and Medicaid dues.

Department Administrator Kathy Babcock was absent for the board meeting, so discussions on the debt will need to continue at the next planned session.
