The Riceville school district is slowly gaining momentum. According to superintendent Barb Schwamman, enrollment is up 75 students in only a couple of years. Schwamman believes this is due to Riceville being an attractive community to live in.
Schwamman also said enrollment had hit its all-time low a couple years ago due to financial issues with the school that left a sour taste in the area’s mouth. But now with the consistent rise in attendance, Riceville is in a league of its own.
