Charles City Chamber of Commerce encourages you to ‘shop small’ this Saturday

Many Charles City residents look with nostalgia to Main Street and wish for more small businesses – clothing shops, shoe outlets, etc. This being said, the area Chamber of Commerce is holding its 10th annual Small Business Saturday on the 30th to promote fueling these locally run operations.

Charles City Community Development Director Mark Wicks said.“When you Shop Small, you are doing so much more than just supporting a local business. You are helping to keep jobs in the community, you are helping families live and raise their children here. You are helping to keep our community vibrant and to provide things you need without the hassle of having to go out of town to get them.”

It is estimated that $0.67 of every dollar spent at a local business will stay in the community.
