Charles City school board adds 2 new members; elects new president and VP

The Charles City school board meeting last night saw some moving and shaking as now-former school board president Robin Macomber and former vice president Jason Walker, made their last appearance on the board. They took their name plates and left for home, making room for the newly elected members: Pat Rottinghaus and Janiece Bergland.

Former Charles City high school counselor, Rottinghaus took her seat and so did retired music teacher, Bergland.

The board then internally elect school both board president and vice president. Scott Dight nominated Josh Mack and Mack won with a unanimous vote. And for VP, Missy Freund was elected to take over Walker’s slot.

The board finished its meeting with the fresh faces and then adjourned early to participate in a training session for the new members.
