Riceville community school breaks ground on new recreation center

Being a high school student athlete is the act of carefully balancing your academics and your chosen sport. In Riceville, Iowa, the middle schoolers have a ton of trouble with this priority teeter-totter. 

 

This is why, the Riceville school system recently broke ground on a brand-new recreation center. It will house middle school practices, indoor recess when needed, and locals who have an itch to workout. 

 

According to superintendent Barb Schwamman, with the constant bump in enrollment, Riceville has the confidence to work on a handful of projects at once. A new bus barn is currently in construction as well.
