Charles City to hold second 2021-budget meeting on max levy

Charles City is nearly done with the process of laying out their budget for the 2021 fiscal year. This should be completed come January, at which time the city will begin a 3-month budgeting time-frame that usually ends with a public hearing on the details. According to City Administrator Steve Diers, this year the city will hold an additional public hearing on the max levy process.

If the city seeks to go above the 2% max levy, the second meeting will need to occur.

This meeting will be published on the city’s Facebook page and on their website if anybody wants to follow the process.
