Vikings 10 Packer 9 at half

In the opening the half of the Packers and Vikings it was turnovers that told the story.  Green Bay turned it over three times, twice deep in their own territory, as Aaron Jones fumbled on the third play of the game and Rodgers threw just his 3rd interception of the season. The game opened with the Packers on offense. On the third play of the game the Packers running back Aaron Jones fumbled after gaining three yards on a short pass.  The ball was recovered by Eric Kendricks and returned to the Packer 10 yard line.  The Vikings only mustered 5 yards in the drive and settled for a field goal. Green Bay finally found their way on to the board with 2:00 minutes remaining in the first quarter when Mason Crosby hit a 42 yard field goal. Scoring was hard to come by for both teams.  Green Bay’s offense was able to move the ball, gaining 92 yards in the first quarter, but on both drives stalled before reaching the 30.  Minnesota was only able to manage 26 yards on three possessions. One this is for sure, both teams’ fans are very much into this game as decibel levels have approached 120 dbs.  In the second quarter the Vikings Anthony Harris picked off Aaron Rodgers as he tried to hit Davonte Adams on a crossing route. That set the Vikings up on the Green Bay 28 yard line to start the drive. Three plays later Kirk Cousins found Stefan Diggs for the 21 yard touchdown.  On Green Bay’s next possession they were able to run and pass, almost at will down the field before stalling at the 15 yard line.  It looked like Rodgers initially had a man open, but he pulled it back. The shot into the endzone that he took fell incomplete. Crosby completed the drive with a 33 yard field goal to make it 10-6 in favors of the home team.  To that point the Packers had outgained the Vikings 152-52. The Packers had a chance at the 4:52 mark in the 2nd quarter to make an offense run, but after Davonte Adams made a catch on a crossing route he fumbled as Harrison Smith hit him. Eric Kendricks recovered his second fumble of the game to set the Vikings up at the GB 46.  The Vikings nearly connected on the reverse pass as Diggs just missed Kirk Cousins. They went for it on 4th down and Cousins overshot Adam Theilen. The Packers were unable to convert on their next possession and had to punt.  After a three and out by the Vikings the Packers got the ball back at their own 42 yard line with 52 seconds to work with.Rodgers guided the team to the 1 yard line. With 7 seconds remaining he tried to hit Davonte Adams for the touchdown.  Adams got his hands on it, but could not reel it in.  Mason Crosby nailed a 19 yard field goal to bring us to 10-9.  Statistically the Packers have dominated this game.  The Packers have amassed 221 total yards of offense and 19:19 minutes of time of possession, while the Vikings have managed only 62 yards of offense.  It will be a matter of who can protect the ball the best in the second half.
