Greene students start BSA Girls Troop

In order to make the Boy Scouts more inclusive, the organization changed their name to Scouts BSA and started allowing females in 2017. This sparked a revolution of girl scout, boy scout groups. According to the Greene Recorder, one of these were recently started in Greene.

The BSA Girls Troop 1070 has four members: Kara Egertson, Elizabeth McPherson, Aeryn Anderson, and Ann Shafer.

This new troop designation will allow these scouts to do anything that a boy scout would be able to do. Meaning they can go on camping outings, do the derby races, and much more.

If you are interested in joining this scout troop, call scout master Michele Anderson at 641-330-0925.
