Charles City city council accepts bid for sewer lining project

Official last night, Municipal Pipe Tool Co.’s bid to line nearly 10,000 feet of sanitary sewer in Charles City has been accepted. The company will line for around $300,000.

The city is attempting to line the sewers underneath roads they plan on asphalting – such as highway 18.

The location of the work will be Clinton Street, South Jackson Street, Cedar Street, and Highway 18. All of this work except for Highway 18 should start in early summer.

The D.O.T. will start asphalting these roads in the fall and this piping project should set the city up for longevity. Highway 18 will be asphalted in 2021.
