Charles City teacher finalist for ‘Ag Educator of the Year’

The Charles City school system might just have the best Ag teacher in the entire state. On Friday, co-workers, students, the Iowa FFA Foundation, and Nationwide representatives, surprised Jim Lundberg by announcing to him he was a finalist for the Golden Owl Award given to teachers who excel in Ag studies.

The award for the Ag Educator of the Year received more than 1,000 nominations in 2019. And since Lundberg was one of them, he was presented a $500 price and a plaque to showcase his achievement.

The winner of the award will be announced in April and the last one standing will garner a $3,000 fund to use towards educational efforts.

Local Nationwide Agent Pete Kloberdanz was in attendance for the ceremony to present Lundberg with his big $500 check.
