2 state champions in one year? That was on everyone’s mind as Osage girl’s basketball stormed through the bracket this last week – even beating the undefeated #1 team in 2A basketball – Cascade. The first state victory of the year came when Osage wrestling garnered the school’s first state trophy since 1981.
Instead, Osage brings home the runner-up honors as they lose big 66-42 versus North Linn on Saturday. Senior Sidney Brandau finished with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Dani Johnson had 10.
Both Johnson and Brandau ended up making the class 2A all tournament team.
The Green Devils end the season with a 24-3 record. This was the only other girl’s state championship appearance outside 1992 in program history.
