Charles City Public Transit Coordinator: ‘It will run no matter what.’

Charles City Public Transit System Coordinator Tammy Elthon came on the KCHA morning show to squash rumors. To start, she assured locals that the transit is an essential service and will not close down – even if the future holds bleaker cards. The transit is even running all 4 buses with normal hours 7-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Elthon says the buses have been relatively empty – only 1 to 2 passengers at a time. Reminds patrons the buses are as safe as they could be.

Elthon says buses are so empty in fact, they are showing up in 5 minutes of a call. And the drivers can bring a local to their appointments, to a restaurant, or to the grocery store. The bus will even wait for you.

Elthon wants to remind the community the buses will drive people to Mason City if needed.

For more information, or to ask a question, call the transit at 641-715-1314.
