Floyd County Medical Center: ‘NO visitors are allowed at this time.’

RELEASE FROM FLOYD COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER:

Wednesday, March 25, 2020

Dear Friends of Floyd County Medical Center,

As Floyd County Medical Center continues to monitor the outbreak of COVID-19, the ongoing safety of patients, staff, and the community remains a primary focus.

For the protection of our patients and staff, NO visitors are allowed at this time in Floyd County Medical Center’s hospital, clinic, outpatient areas, and emergency department.

Some exceptions will be made for situations for special patient care needs on a case-by-case basis, including:

  • Pediatric patients
  • Birth Center patients
  • Patients receiving end-of-life care as determined by medical professionals

For approved exceptions, only ONE visitor per patient will be allowed. They must be:

  • Age 18 or older
  • Either immediate family members, powers of attorney, guardians or patient representatives
  • Healthy with no symptoms of illness including respiratory or fever
  • The same visitor for the duration of the patient’s stay

We understand that these restrictions will be difficult for patients and their loved ones. We are taking these necessary steps to protect our patients and staff.

We continue to encourage you to use other methods to connect with your friends and loved ones (e.g. telephone, Face Time, etc.)
