Charles City man charged with homicide in car crash that kills 9-year-old

A Charles City man, blamed in October of 2019 for a car crash that killed a 9-year-old child, was charged on Tuesday with homicide charges.
According to KIMT, Jesse Duane Blade, 30 years-old, was driving on October 26th, 2019, and failed to stop at the intersection of Rudd Park and Glass Avenue, smashing into Ronald Fisher’s vehicle. The collision took the life of 9-year-old Royce Fisher and injured 3 others: Sara Fisher, Ronald Fisher, and Aidyn Kline; some of these injuries involved broken bones.
The legal limit for blood alcohol level in Iowa is 0.08; that day, Blade’s was at 0.137 and he also later tested positive for cocaine use.
Now, Blade is being charged with homicide by vehicle-OWI and homicide by vehicle-reckless driving, 1 count of OWI-2nd offense, and 3 counts of serious injury by vehicle.
