The COVID-19 situation in Iowa continues to develop in the state. A few hours ago the Iowa Governor ordered Iowa schools to continue with the COVID-19 shutdown until April 30. Charles City Community Schools will continue to be closed until at least Monday, May 4, 2020. During this time we will continue with all of the family services we are providing including:
We stress, now more than ever, students and families need to stay home as much as possible. The number of cases continues to rise and social distancing is critical to making sure our community stays safe. Our campuses will continue to be closed.
In addition to the resources we are providing, we want to hear from you about what your family needs right now. If it’s food, toilet paper, or additional teaching and learning resources, please let us know. There are community partners who are willing to help our Charles City Community Schools family. You can email firstname.lastname@example.org with your needs.
Also, families taking part in our COVID-19 food service program, we are asking for your feedback on the best days to distribute meals. Please follow this link: https://bit.ly/2UU1D4V
As a Comet family, we will make it through this unprecedented time. Even though we aren’t physically together we are united in these challenges. As a beacon of hope for students, staff, and community members, the lights at the sports complex will be illuminated each night from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. We miss you! Please let us know how we can help.
