Gov. Reynolds orders closing of more businesses (bowling alleys, malls, libraries); 78 new cases, 3 deaths

Gov. Kim Reynolds shifted her daily press conferences to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday. On April 6th, she updated the state about further business closings until April 30th, fielded media questions, and updated last week’s coronavirus-related numbers.

Reynolds announced April 6ths new numbers:


Out of almost nowhere, Linn County had an explosion of COVID-19 cases over the last couple weeks. Reynolds cites this outbreak to a long term care facility – and warns there have been more such outbreaks around the state.


Adding upon the laundry list of closed businesses, announced libraries, malls, parks, and several others to close until April 30th.


And lastly, the press conference divulged how Iowa law enforcement will proceed to deter social gatherings of over 10 people – especially those in closed areas.
