‘Social Distancing Easter Egg Hunt’ in Charles City on Saturday

Easter is seeming like an after-thought this year. With strict social distancing rules, nobody thought it’d be possible to celebrate the holiday in any normal way. Though some businesses in Charles City are attempting to give kids an outlet for their Easter-Bunny-fever.

Hy-Vee, Rustic Corner, and the Rotary Club are teaming up to put on a ‘Social Distancing Easter Egg Hunt’.

The Facebook page reads:

“On Saturday, April 11th, let us EGG your home! The Rustic Corner & Hy-Vee of Charles City are providing you the opportunity to have the easiest egg hunt ever. Our team of volunteers from Charles City Rotary will be sneaking around town the night of Saturday, April 11th from 7 pm-11 pm and hiding plastic eggs filled with candy & stickers for your Easter egg hunt.”

The cost for the filled and hidden eggs in a given lawn is $10 for 20 eggs.

Some disclaimers include:

– Some eggs may contain candy with peanuts.
– By registering for this, you are giving permission for our Rotary
volunteers to be on your property on 4/11/2020 between 7-11:00 PM.
– Egg Hunt Delivery is limited to the first 50 homes signed up.
– All deliveries/egg hunts must be within Charles City limits
(includes Wedgewood Est & Maple Heights).

All proceeds will be going to the Rotary Club to be used towards activities that support the community.
