‘Free happy meals for Comets’ April 14th

The Charles City schools COVID-19 meal program has provided 10 meals a week to local students for almost a month now. Both the Soifer Family McDonalds and Jay Jung Farm Bureau Financial Services decided they wanted to pitch in somehow.

On April 14th, the Charles City meal program will be distributing the normal meals and with an added bonus: a coupon for a free happy meal.

Jay Jung says Farm Bureau and McDonalds didn’t want to turn their backs on the community.

Soifer says they have given the Charles City school system 500 happy meal coupons to be distributed on April 14th to students during the normal program pick-up.

Even during this time of mass uncertainty for local businesses, they still have the impulse to help the community. Though, Soifer says this is becoming a proverbial balancing act.
