Osage woman Deb Scharper announces candidacy for State Senate 26th District

Waylon Brown, the current Iowa State Senator for the 26th district, might have a competitor. This is because on April 14th, Osage resident Deb Scharper announced her candidacy for the Democratic nomination.

Scharper graduated from Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock High School before becoming a CT technician. She currently lives in Osage and has 5 children; 3 of which are still in high school.

With her house still full, she had to battle with the decision on whether it was her time to run for the nomination.

Being in the healthcare industry, it makes sense that affordable healthcare is her top political priority.

Scharper says she knows Brown and his family – and she appreciates his character. Though, she believes she can bring something different and needed to Iowa’s 26th district.
