New Hampton quilt shop has made 700-plus face masks

Fabric stores from here to kingdom come are shifting their attention to one main thing: creating masks for healthcare workers and beyond. Addicted 2 Stitchin’ in New Hampton is no exception. Owner Patrice Schilling has made so many masks in the past couple of weeks her husband is reporting that she talks about them in her sleep.

Schilling says she needed to get creative pretty quickly after running out of elastic in the first couple days – she says elastic is the equivalent of toilet paper in value right now. The problem was, the community demand for the masks rose to an astronomical level – the show needed to go on.

With the help of her friends, family, and more, Schilling continues to make masks with unique styles and troubleshooting techniques each and every day.
