Charles City Chamber to distribute $2,000 worth of Fareway gift cards to area businesses

The Charles City Chamber of Commerce has $2,000 worth of Fareway gift cards to give out to small business owners and employees.

Fareway Stores Inc. donated a total of $200,000 to Iowa Chamber of Commerce’s around the state. Charles City Community Development Director Mark Wicks says:

“It will then be up to the businesses that receive the cards to determine who they go to among their employees or how to best utilize the cards. This generous gift from Fareway is intended to provide a little help to those who could use it.”

Each gift card has $50 on it and can be used at the Charles City Fareway location. The Chamber has 40 gift cards to distributed via a drawing.

Chamber member businesses that have been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 restrictions and mandated closures will be included in a random drawing for the gift cards in order to make the distribution as fair as possible.

For businesses wanting to join the drawing contact the Chamber at 641-225-4234.
