Charles City city council meeting preview (4/20)

Tonight at 6 p.m. the City Council will be meeting via Zoom.com for their bi-weekly session. The Mayor and staff will be in the council chambers for the meeting and anybody wanting to join the discussion in person can.

The meeting will commence with the ordinary public comment section; where citizens will be allotted 5 minutes each for any issue not on the agenda.

Next, the council will approve the liquor licenses for Casey’s General Store, Kwikstar, and Hy-Vee.

Many ordinances and resolutions will follow including a resolution to direct planning and zoning commission to review vacation of a portion of S. Johnson Street.

Lastly, the council will discuss the chamber’s request to close streets and utilize of city parks for Party in the Park and Fourth of July events. Which are yet to be cancelled or postponed.
