Charles City Art Center to hold ‘Empty Bowl Fundraiser’ online

Cancelled art shows are a direct example of COVID-19’s ‘cancel-culture’ or the tendency for the virus to systematically and absolutely ruin future events. For the Charles City Art Center (CCAC), the show must go on. On Wednesday at 9 a.m., the CCAC website will be posting their annual ‘Empty Bowl Fundraiser’.

100-plus bowls will be posted on the website, sold for $15 a piece. People will have the option of no-contact pickup or shipping for an additional $10. Many local artists have donated bowls including: Brian Bohlen, Emily Kiewel, and Barbara Thompson.

All proceeds will be going towards the Messiah Food Bank and CCAC. For those wanting to purchase a bowl, follow this link after it goes live on Wednesday:  https://charlescityartscenter.square.site/shop/4
