Charles City schools unveil ‘duck cam’; talk summer sports, baseball/softball complex

When Gov. Reynolds announced the complete closure of schools last week, most of the KCHA audience had the same reaction: “Finally.”

The prolonged decision had started to become a cloudy-day for everyone involved. Now, the question is: where do we go from here?

Charles City schools Communications Director Justin DeVore continues to guarantee that the class of 2020 will have a ceremony – however, no date or ideas are concrete as of yet.

He also alludes that the fate of summer sports will be decided by June 1st. The school originally planned on unveiling the new baseball and softball complex in late May – DeVore says this will most likely be pushed.

DeVore says on top of the guaranteed graduation ceremony, the school system is attempting to celebrate the senior class in any way they can.

Washington students may be disappointed they will be unable to participate in the duck parade this year – the school has a semi-solution.

The school has created a duck cam to observe the family pre-birth.
