The Charles City school board will be congregating tonight at 6:15 p.m. on Zoom for a regular board meeting. The board encourages locals to watch and participate in the meeting via Zoom (ID: 951 5321 1746) or by phone (1-216-505-9904 PIN: 151506096). The conference call will open with the public comment portion of the meeting for anybody interested in discussing anything on or off the agenda.
Superintendent Fisher will talk about what the Charles City school system is doing in terms of their COVID-19 learning plan. The continued roll-out of opportunities for the students will be discussed.
Fisher is also recommending that the board agrees to the Charles City Community Education Association (CCCEA) master contract changes, which will, “increase the regular program base by $100 and no change to the Teacher Salary Supplement base pay,” among other contract changes.
The board will negotiate the superintendent’s contract. A 3-year contract worth $153,822 plus $1,000 in travel allowances are being recommended. Health premiums would get an 8% increase; dental premiums 1.2% increase.
And finally, the University of Northern Iowa will talk whether or not for the 2020-2021 school year, Charles City schools will continue their agreement with UNI for student teaching.
