First ‘Party in the Park’ of the year postponed

Heartland Days out of New Hampton was cancelled earlier this month. Nashua’s Water Over the Dam Days was postponed until August 14-15. Until recently, Charles City’s summer events remained steady, as the Chamber of Commerce announced on April 14th that the Party in the Park events were all set to happen on schedule.

This changes this past week as the first Party in the Park scheduled for summer 2020 has been postponed.

Chamber Event Coordinator Jen Solomon says the first Party in the Park should be on June 19th – that is if the governor allows the event and refrains from extending the state wide closures.

In other news, Gov. Reynolds is allowing farmers markets in the state to start operations. This is why Charles City’s farmer market vendors will be meeting on a conference call on April 29th to hash out the details on how the market will operate.

For those wanting to be involved in the call, contact the Chamber at 641-228-2335.
