It is ‘Mental Health Awareness Month’; Senior Life Solutions is here to help

And just in time, it is Mental Health Awareness Month. Sheila Kobliska at Senior Life Solutions, out of MercyOne New Hampton, explains how social isolation can heavily disrupt our lives.

All throughout the month of May, MercyOne New Hampton is putting on special events to keep people aware of mental health and how it impacts a high number of our friends and family everyday.

Kobliska says Senior Life Solutions is a good place to start if you are over the age of 65 and struggling with mental illness.

She also says anxiety is sometimes hard to spot in our own lives – she explains what are the signs of anxiety we should be looking for and how to subside them.

Senior Life Solutions is generally for people over the age of 65, but Kobliska says anybody struggling with depression or anxiety should reach out at: 641-394-1627.

And if you are thinking about suicidal thoughts, call the National Sucide Awareness Hotline at: 1-800-273-8255.
