CCAC ‘Empty Bowls’ online fundraiser recap

Event coordinators with dreams of still having their events are adopting the same model:

Put it online.

That is what the Charles City Art Center did with their yearly ‘Empty Bowls’ fundraiser. ‘Empty Bowls’ is a fundraiser that usually gives the CCAC and Messiah’s Food Pantry a needed influx of cash each year.

Under normal circumstances, local and area artists donate bowls and the team would then host a soup dinner using the artists bowls as containers. This year, 100-plus bowls were sold virtually on the website for $15 a piece.

Many local artists donated bowls including: Brian Bohlen, Emily Kiewel, and Barbara Thompson.

CCAC has already sold $1,600+ worth of bowls this year – with a number of bowls still for sale on the website for those who would like to still participate in the fundraiser: www.charlescityarts.org.

The profits from the sale will be split in two and half will go to CCAC, with the other half going to Messiah’s Food Pantry.
