Charles City city administrator gives update on city projects (WRF, fiber, 4th Ave, etc)

The city of Charles City is still working towards the future of the area. City Administrator Steve Diers says this is a very exciting time for many of the city’s projects.

The water resource facility, which has been on a construction hold for over a month, has been cleared to resume as of May 23rd.

The area’s internet boost – the fiber-to-home project – is days away from receiving bids for the wiring of fiber. With July as the tentative date for fiber in the ground.

As many city officials are hinting 4th Avenue will most likely be free of blockage by next week.

In other news, ambulance contract talks are heating up.

And finally, with the entire state receiving the green light to reopen, the city is aiming at the start of June.
