Chickasaw County announce 9th case of virus; Floyd County at 19

Chickasaw County has another confirmed case of COVID-19 for a cumulative total of 9 cases, with 8 cases that have recovered and been released from Public Health monitoring. The ninth case is an adult in the 41-60 year old age group.

This is the first case in the county since May 19th.

Chickasaw County Public Health Director Lisa Welter says,“We encourage people to spread out, whenever they are in a social situation, ideally 6 feet or more apart.  If that is not possible, then a mask or face covering should be used in social situations. These guidelines apply to indoor and outdoor gatherings.”

In Floyd County, the confirmed number of cases has just recently pushed to 19, after sitting idle since May 23rd.
