Osage ‘backwards prom’ being developed

Osage Superintendent Barb Schwamman is calling this year’s Osage prom ‘backwards prom’ as everything is constantly being turned over as they try to plan the event within a restricted world.

The Osage prom is tentatively planned for June 20th. However, the regulations from the Department of Education are making it tougher for the school to get involved in these events.

To counteract these rules, Schwamman says Osage parents are planning to take the bulk of the responsibility for most of the event. To make it work, these parents will need to find an offsite facility with a 300-plus capacity, so that a predicted 150-students will be able to come to the event.

Schwamman alludes that the special portions of normal prom will not be discarded.
