Charles City 3rd-5th of July FULL SCHEDULE

The events for Charles City’s 4th of July weekend are finally crafted and set. Chamber Director Mark Wicks says on normal years, 4th of July is the area’s biggest party – they couldn’t just let it all be cancelled.

Charles City will have a fireworks show:

Wicks says they need the community to follow social distancing during the firework show:

Businesses and homes around Charles City are dressing up for the Fourth of July holiday, and the public is being encouraged to enjoy and vote for their favorites. Voting will be done online through the Chuck Town: Charles City, Iowa Facebook page by members of the public by “liking” their favorites in the July 4th Decorating Contest Album.

The winners will be announced on July 6th, with the Business category winner to receive $100 in Chamber Cash and the winner of the Residential category $50 in Chamber Cash and a gift basket.

There will still be a number of Kids Day activities to enjoy in Charles City on Friday, July 3rd.

Traditionally there is a Kids Day parade, kids games and inflatable rides in Central Park. Kids do need to be present and remain in the vehicle to receive their goodie bags from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday.

Wicks says when the parade was cancelled, the Chamber did their best to replace the event in a safe way.
