Charles City Public Library staff to hide geocaches around area for people to find

A lot of you may be aware of what a geocache is – many others may not have even heard the word before. According to Charles City Public Library’s Stacey Leerhoff, for her family they are an amazing excuse to get out and go for a walk.

Strictly speaking, geocaches are high tech treasure hunts. Leerhoff will give out coordinates to be entered into a GPS unit or cellphone. This will introduce a compass that points in the direction of the hidden geocache box.

Leerhoff says every time her family travels they use geocaches as fun excuses to explore the area.
