New Hampton 2nd graders help create butterfly garden that currently graces the county

In Chickasaw County sits a beautiful little butterfly garden; shaped and positioned to look like a complete butterfly. And this garden was almost entirely made by a New Hampton Elementary 2nd grade class.

Chickasaw County Conservation Naturalist Matt Crayne, who assisted the children in the project, says the garden was completed just this last year and is flourishing.

Crayne says the purpose of the garden is to promote healthy pollination in the area.

Crayne often sees butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees feeding off the of the various plants in the garden.
