Charles City council member talks Lion’s Field Pool, potential new assisted living center, library parking lot construction

The Charles City city council is pushing many new projects down the pipeline that much of the community are unaware of – Councilwoman Phoebe Pittman is here to update the area on these projects.

The Lion’s Field Pool bypassed opening this summer due to many pandemic concerns – citing lack of willing lifeguards and not wanting to turn people away from the pool due to capacity limits. Just this year, the pool has upgraded its slide and the new red and blue coating is ready for future swim seasons.

Another council projects is the assisted living center that is in the infancy stages of planning. Photos of this potential beautiful facility were released in last 2019 and the city is continuing to work to make this a reality. This center would go in the corn field across from the Floyd County Medical Center.

Finally, the Charles City Public Library Parking Lot is currently under construction until the first part of August – Pittman is ecstatic about this.
