Charles City, Iowa – The Floyd County Fair finished on Monday and barely anyone was there to see any of the events – this is because the fair was completely closed to the public. However, the events were all streamed on Facebook live throughout the last week.
This type of event did not produce as much profit for the fairgrounds as normal years – and many remember that a tornado slammed through the fairgrounds May of 2019. For both these reasons, First Security Bank in Charles City decided to help out:
First Security donated $10,000 to the fair grounds for tornado recovery, $1,000 to use for upkeep of the facilities, and $250 to sponsor the livestock show last week.
This $11,250 will be tacked on to the already $50,000 that First Security Bank donated over the last couple of years to help construct the Youth Enrichment Center which is operational on the grounds.
