The Charles Theatre reopened briefly between July 31st to and August 9th to show old Disney classics and to wait out Hollywood to nab some new movies. According to Manager Karen Youngerman, one of these showings garnered 2 people in the entire theatre – she thinks everybody is too scared to come.
After talking to her movie booker, Youngerman believes it could be as late as October for the theatre to reopen again.
She has even heard many big-name theatre companies are debating waiting until 2021 for their reopening.
The silver lining? The theatre plans to continue their curbside popcorn sales into the future:
Youngerman says whenever a new movie is released and able to be popped-in, that the theatre will be ready to reopen.
