Hunting area in Floyd County ‘Slough Creek’ to get wetland restoration

5 miles North of Floyd a wetland area referred to as ‘Slough Creek’ – a part of the county often used for hunting with 65 acres of upland habitat. Floyd County Conservation’s Heidi Reams says they will soon be doing a wetland restoration on the land.

Reams says this will help many of the wetland creatures such as ducks, geese, insects, frogs, toads, and more.

The project should be commencing soon. Reams says most people don’t like the drought currently happening in the area, but it will allow the project to progress quicker.
