The Floyd County Medical Center has just added another asset – a veteran orthopedic surgeon that will be at the hospital every Wednesday to do procedures. Dr. Roswell Johnston, is a current partner at the Cedar Valley Medical Specialists in Waterloo, and works in an outreach clinic in Sumner on Mondays.
Rod Nordeng is excited for the new addition:
With Johnston’s arrival, many wondered if that meant current FCMC orthopedic surgeon Dr. Val Lyons had left – according to Nordeng this is not the case. In fact, FCMC hopes to bolster these two well into the future.
Johnston will be helping with arthroscopes and joints type surgeries. Nordeng says humans are living longer and these surgeries are very important.
