One Injured in Saturday morning crash

Charles City, Iowa – The Charles City Police Department responded to a two-vehicle collision on Saturday.

The crash occurred in the 500 block of Freeman Street at about 10:26am in which a grey 2012 Ford Escape operated by 86-year-old Arthur Hunt of Charles City was traveling southbound on Freeman Street when a red 2013 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 31-year-old Chelsea Wagner of Mason City failed to obey a stop sign and collided with Hunt’s vehicle while attempting to go westbound on 3rd Street.

Wagner was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and operation of a motor vehicle without registration., both simple misdemeanors.

A 31-year-old male was transported to the Floyd County Medical Center via AMR Ambulance for possible injuries.
