No injuries reported in a pair of crashes on Tuesday

Charles City, Iowa – The Charles City Police Department responded to two separate crashes on Tuesday.

The first one was reported at around 4:54pm in the 1800 block of North Grand Avenue. 38-year-old Adam Michael Tidemanson of Charles City was operating a gray 2017 Jeep Cherokee southbound when it was struck by a black 2009 Mitsubishi Lance being driven by 56-year-old Roberto Grande Miranda, also of Charles City.

Miranda was cited for unsafe backing. Both vehicles had around $1,000 in damage.

The second crash was reported at around 8:00pm in the 1200 block of Cleveland Avenue, near the intersection of Triumph Avenue and Highway 18. 63-year-old Denny Tynan of Charles City was driving a 1950 Chevy when he was rear-ended. The other vehicle initially stopped but then fled the scene.

No injuries were reported. An estimated $4,000 damage was reported to Tynan’s vehicle.

If you know of any information on the vehicle that fled, you are asked to contact the Charles City Police Department at (641) 228-3366.
