Healthcare worker and parent of 5, Deb Scharper, is running for Iowa State Senate District 26. She won the Democratic nomination back in June and will be opposing the incumbent Waylon Brown. Being a CT technician in Osage, her platform is shaped around healthcare and her version for it in the district.
Scharper alludes that she is also passionate about mental health in the area and believes there are not enough providers to combat this issue in the district.
Scharper also says it is unacceptable that all parts of Iowa do not have access to broadband internet.
Scharper wants to also focus on farmers and their land.
Scharper graduated from Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock High School before becoming a CT technician. She currently lives in Osage and has 5 children; 3 of which are still in high school.
