Floyd County Auditor’s Office: residents can vote absentee in the general election starting Monday

As most people know, 2020 is an election year. By 2021, the country will know who the president will be for the 4 years. This process all starts on Monday, October 5th – as Floyd County will be sending out ballots starting that day. These ballots can be returned at any time via mail, drop off box at the courthouse, or by handing it to the Auditor’s Office.

County Auditor Gloria Carr wants to remind the area that, contrary to popular belief, people can still vote in person:

In person voting will start on October 5 and run through November 2 in the Auditor’s office, 2nd floor at the courthouse. One can also vote at their polling place on November 3 from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Carr wants to assure people who want to vote in person, that numerous anti-virus measures are being taken.

There will be 8 polling places in total on Election Day.
