Floyd County Conservation to hold ‘Women in the Woods with Wine’ and ‘Blue Moon Hike’ events in October

Winter’s imminence will not stop Floyd County Conservation or Heidi Reams from outdoor programs. The first one is perfect for any ‘wino’ who understands that it is always warm when you have alcoholic grapes in your belly.

‘Women in the Woods with Wine’ to be held on October 27th at 7 p.m.

Then on the 30th, Reams will be holding a ‘Blue Moon Hike’.

There are two full moons in October. The first one was the ‘Harvest Moon’ on October 1st which used to signal to farmers when it was time to harvest their crops. If there is a second full moon during a calendar month it is always referred to as a ‘Blue Moon’.

Reams also teased that conservation will be putting on a ‘Youth Pheasant Hunt’ on October 24th for children under the age of 16 who have taken the hunters education course.
