Floyd County ‘Law Enforcement Center’ delayed after shipment snag

The multi-million dollar Law Enforcement Center Project for Floyd County – which was tabbed to be completed by mid-December – has hit a construction snag. According to Floyd County Auditor Gloria Carr, the project is no longer on the same construction timeline.

Carr says the company who is supplying these delayed jail pods to the county is backlogged due to the pandemic. The county is putting pressure on this company to hurry up the process.

When the county finally receives these jail pods, Carr says the installation process is going to be a lot of work.

Carr says construction on the courthouse side of the project is coming very soon.

The law enforcement center timeline might be pushed back deeper into 2021 with the delay. Updates to follow.
