Charles City Park and Rec board talk brand new pool; ‘community pool committee’

The Charles City area will most likely have a brand new swimming pool in the near future. According to Park and Rec Director Tyler Mitchell, the current Lion’s Field Pool has long passed its viability shelf-life.

Mitchell says the board is looking into creating a ‘community pool committee’ to help create balanced decision making with the pool’s design and amenities.

As of now, the board has already created a pool ‘wish list’ that includes a splash pad – or an area children can stay wet and cool during summer days without any safety risks.

Mitchell hopes to start acquiring funding in the next year or two.
