Waylon Brown for Iowa Senate talks Logan’s Law, occupational licensing, skilled workforce

Republican State Senator for the 26th District of Iowa Waylon Brown believes his biggest asset coming into his reelection campaign is his ability to work across the aisle.

Brown says the most memorable legislation he was a part of over his term was ‘Logan’s Law’.

Logan’s Law from the Iowa DNR website is:

“…named after Logan Luft, was enacted in 2019 and allows hunting, fishing and trapping license buyers to declare as an organ, eye and tissue donor, when purchasing hunting and fishing licenses, very similar to declaring when purchasing or renewing a driver’s license.”

Brown says during the last four years he also worked closely with occupational licensing reform.

In Brown’s eyes, if he was reelected this November, that COVID-19 recovery is the biggest issue in Iowa. With workforce related troubleshooting being a close second.

In this coming election, Brown is pitted against Democratic candidate Deb Scharper out of Osage.
