The Charles City High School football coach has stepped down as signal caller. Former Charles City business teacher Darren Bohlen will no longer be the head coach of the Comets.
He says it is because he took a job running an insurance office in Clarksville this last year – and thought it was too much for him as he is working outside of the district now.
Bohlen took over as the head football coach for the Comets in 2014 and led them to a playoff berth the year after the team went 0-9.
In Bohlen’s final season, the team went 0-6 during a weird year that showcased a 2 week stoppage in practice and play for virus related reasons.
